For DJ Wade, capitalising on unusual sounds to drive his releases has always been his niche.

Before migrating to Australia, he set a goal to infuse Jamaican sounds with those of his new demographic in a bid to push the culture both 'Down Under' and worldwide. Recently, he released his track, Stickmen Toys Rock, under his Dasvibes imprint which managed to peak at No. 4 on the Australia Top 100 Independent Singles chart.

Since then, DJ Wade has teamed up with Zimbabwean DJ Terry Moyaz as well as Tanika Siziba, for the Amapiano (South African genre) remix of the single, which is expected to be part of his debut EP.

"Both DJ Terry Moyaz and I have a certain respect for the steadily progressing Amapiano genre and we used that energy to create a definite hit with the remix. We realised the influence we would make if we combined our unique ethnic backdrops and music styles to create a track that would stand out in the dance genre spectrum," said DJ Wade.

With the project already amassing more than 500,000 digital streams, they opted to work on a second release.

Additional features on the EP are Bring that Come, a track by emerging Kingston-based artiste Wiski D.

To close out 2023, Stickmen Toys Rock debuted at Nos. 3 and 52 on the Australian and UK Dance Charts, respectively.

With the traction it picked up during the Christmas period, the track also made its presence on the US Top 100 at No. 96 and on the US Top 100 Daily at No. 67.

"Through shared aspirations and a dedication to create something uniquely representative of our combined roots, this track became a project that beautifully unified the essence of multiple cultures through the rhythmic and unifying language of music. This collaboration marks a celebration of unity, diversity, and the harmonising power of music in the heart of Brisbane Australia," said DJ Wade.
