J Stvrr ready to unleash his debut EP

Dancehall artiste J Stvrr, who is eyeing a bright future in the music industry, is getting ready to release his debut EP, which he has named ' Da Protongonist'.

"My fans have been asking me for a project that they could sit and listen, so I am repaying them for being with me over the years," said the artiste. "It is also for all age group as all the songs are clean and conscious. This EP is for people who have memories of the golden age of dancehall where you could love and feel the words of songs."

Celebrate Life and New Kid are two of the featured tracks that J Stvvr expects will grab special attention from what he sees as an uplifting EP laced with authentic dancehall vibes.

" Celebrate Life is one of the songs that is going to resonate, inspire and motivate the listener as it reminds persons of how blessed we are to just be alive and to just make most of it, and just celebrate. New Kid is also a very catching song as it speaks about hard work and just elevating," J Stvrr said.

The EP features several producers, including Kyoni Records, Aktive Records, Mek Cents Ent and Wallstreet Records.

J Stvrr, whose given name is Jowayne James, spent his earlier years in St Thomas, but currently resides in Canada. His passion for music developed while being a student at Morant Bay High School; he recalled using his break periods to beat the desks and have mini concerts.

The artiste, who has been spreading the infectious beats of dancehall on the Canadian music scene, is known for songs such as, We Ready, Wild and Wicked, and We Scorching, said he draws inspiration from dancehall heavyweights Vybz Kartel, Popcaan, and Masicka.
