DiDiDon Records releases ‘Currency’ rhythm
Hailing from Mountain View, Kingston, DiDiDon Records' owner, Jerome Pennington, has been working assiduously in pushing and promoting new and vibrant artistes.
He also expressed the belief that more can be done to assist artistes and producers in the music industry to gain proper funding for new projects. Nevertheless, the fast-rising producer recently released the hard-core trap-dancehall 'Currency' rhythm, featuring three underground artistes. The rhythm, which is distributed by OneRPM, features Grimy Don ( Fraud), Karmaa ( Transfer), and Slyngaz ( Certified).
"These artistes are all vibrant, versatile, and have keen lyrical abilities. They have managed to build and maintain a strong underground fan base, and I know for a fact that their mainstream and international recognition will follow," shared Pennington.
DiDiDon Records' fan base started to grow in 2020 when he released his first project with Grimy Don titled 6six Deadman and began to manage him. His popularity rose with the production of Online Teef by C9; Surviving by Stanch D in 2022, which went viral on TikTok with over 21 million views; and in 2023 with Hushpuppi by Valiant. Pennington said, "I am inspired by producers like Rvssian and Romeich, who both embrace young talent while still maintaining their prominence in the industry. I am an entrepreneur as well, so the business of music is essential to me. I will continue to push young acts and hope that the necessary stakeholders in music will move towards funding this industry the right way."
