Jamaican pop singer Andon is no stranger to making music that deals with matters of heart and difficult break-ups.

That's why he envisions success for his latest single, Bye Bye, a song which gives the perspective of someone who is bringing 'payback' after their significant other has called it quits on the relationship.

"The inspiration behind [the song] is about a relationship of mine that wasn't going well and I wanted it to be a break-up song that has to do with empowerment as well," Andon said. Visuals were released for the Bye Bye project in April.

Andon is eyeing international stardom and he knows the challenges of trying to break through as a pop artiste in a land dominated by reggae and dancehall. But he is ready for the challenge.

"It is a bit tricky, and sometimes I do get discouraged. But the music industry isn't easy, and when I do accomplish it, it's gonna be worth it! I remember the reason why I started and why I need to do this ... I have lives I would love to change," he said.

The eldest of five children, Andon was born in Kingston, and was raised by his father as a single parent. Andon's talent for singing and music was discovered at age nine by a teacher, who made him the lead of a trio of performers. He began to hone his singing talents and at age 18, he auditioned for the Sandals hotel group as a performer. He performed steadily at various hotels on the north coast. He eventually landed a steady gig at the Royalton Negril where he wowed tourists with his amazing vocals. He achieved a sixth-place finish in Digicel Rising Stars in 2018. He inked a deal with Artekal Music, an independent US label.

In 2023, Andon's Beside Me at Christmas was featured on MTV for the entire month of December. He was also featured on an MTV pop feature on music's brightest young stars.

"I am currently working on a body of work and am so excited for the world to hear it when it's done. I've been taking my time because I want to make sure everything is perfect," he said.
