Linstead, St Catherine-based female entertainer D'QUEEN, says that she is more energised than ever to claim her spot in the industry.

D'QUEEN, who hails from Waterhouse, St Andrew, said that her musical journey started when she was attending Bog Walk High School, which has since been renamed Enid Bennett High School.

"From I was in school, I would participate in the arts through singing and dancing. These activities have paved the way for my career path," D'QUEEN said. Her professional journey started in 2015 when she released the single Me Alright on the True Royal Records label.

Fast-forward to 2024, she has been working with Code 1 Records and has put out songs such as Hard Work, Money Elevator, New Boyfriend and Cold Heart, which she said is getting good rotation.

She said that her current association with Code 1 Records is making a meaningful contribution to her musical development.

"I am pleased with my career direction under this management. It has helped me to be determined and to focus on doing music that continues to engage my fans," D'QUEEN said.

The entertainer, whose given name is Shauna Powell, said that her desire is to collaborate with dancehall stalwarts such as Masicka, Mavado, Shaggy, Vybz Kartel, Shaniel Muir or Alkaline.

Having performed in The Bahamas and at several local events such as Galiday Bounce and Linstead Ackee Festival, she is desirous of continuing her musical passion for years to come.
