Labels collaborate on ‘New World Order’

December 02, 2024

Chart-topping label Armz House Records and Canada-based label Realascanb Entertainment have joined forces to release one of the year’s most anticipated dancehall projects, ‘New World Order’.

The project, which was released last Friday, features songs by chart-topping dancehall artiste Chronic Law, the iconic Sizzla, Laden, Jahshii, Vershon, I-Octane and rising newcomers T’Jean and Urbann. Maurice Linton and Everton Minott are the main forces behind the Armz House Records imprint. The label has a solid track record in dancehall music circles, having scored big with songs such as Buss a Blank by I-Octane and Mavado’s At the Top its Just Us.

“My cousin Bird (given name Horatio Linton) approached me with the idea for us to work on a project together, and I said yes, let’s get it done. He was the one who came up with the name of the rhythm, and I did the selection of the artiste for the project,” Linton explained. He said getting the artistes to participate in the project wasn’t a difficult task.

“It wasn’t hard, knowing that I already have an understanding with everyone that I’m working with,” he added. Linton has more than 15 years of experience in music production.

Songs featured on the rhythm include Grimey by Chronic Law, Wharf Load by Jahshii, Own Money by I-Octane, and Shine the Light by Sizzla.

Horatio, who is originally from the Kingston 11 area, started out producing music for up-and-coming acts. New World Order is his first project working with established artistes.

“I am very creative, a great listener and enjoy exploring new ideas/topics. Things that open your mind to what’s going on around you and what is to come. I also have a strong vision of always trying to think outside the box, which can bring a difference to people’s lives,” he said.

He has worked with the likes of Dharma, Voltyg, Young Wild Apache, Leejan Krucial Ggod, Krucial Diva, Csavi and Stamadan.
