Hardware workers wanted
Do you have a high school education and desire to work in a Corporate Area-based hardware store as a warehouse attendant, forklift operator, or sales representative? If your answer is yes and yes, then here is an opportunity for you.
THE STAR, in its Jobs and Careers section this week, sought to match employers to those looking for jobs.
After searching the Gleaner Classifieds for job postings, our news team made contact with Image Vanguard, an employment agency that handles human resources for the hardware store located in Cross Roads and Half-Way Tree, St Andrew.
Cassandra Davis, managing director of Image Vanguard, told THE STAR that the hardware company, which has been in existence over 20 years, is seeking five warehouse attendants, three forklift operators, and six sales representatives.
"The business is a family business that has grown over the years. They have a lot of employees who are long-standing employees. They do things for the staff like have functions, and they have a football team that competes. The environment is like family," Davis said.
Persons looking to fill the warehouse attendant positions will "assist the warehouse manager and customers when they come in by locating the goods and delivering the goods from the warehouse to the customers' mode of transportation," Davis explained.
As for persons looking to fill the forklift operator positions, previous experience operating forklifts would be an asset, Davis advised.
They will be tasked with stocking goods in the warehouse and offloading containers when they arrive.
Davis explained that the company is always seeking to improve and expand its business, so they are seeking sales representatives who can grow the business. They must hold five Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate subjects.
If these positions appeal to you, send your application letter, rÈsumÈ, and a recent photograph to imagevanguard@outlook.com by tomorrow.
