Allegations are that on August 25, at about 8 p.m., the deceased, who was a British citizen, was at her home in Mt James, St Andrew, when she was attacked and chopped to death by the accused man.

According to police reports, the deceased had recently returned to Jamaica and started a coffee farm to which the accused was employed. On the day in question, an argument reportedly developed between the two over some unfinished work the deceased had given Kinghorn to do.

It is reported that Kinghorn left the woman's premises and returned with a machete, which he used to chop her to death.

He also went to his own home and set fire to the one room board structure, before fleeing the area. Kinghorn later told a friend what he had done and the citizen alerted the police.

The accused was arrested on August 26, a day after the incident occurred. The matter will be mentioned again on October 20.
