CB Group UWI 5K donates Thermocycler

File The University of the West Indies (UWI) presented the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation (JKKF) with a thermocycler machine valued at $1.4 million on Friday, October 30, at the Office of the Deputy Principal. The University of the West Indies (UWI) on Friday presented the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation with a Thermocycler Machine, which was funded by part proceeds from the 2014 staging of the CB Group UWI 5K Run/Walk and Smart Eggs Kids K.

The official presentation of the machine, valued at $1.4 million, was made by UWI's Principal and Pro-Vice Chancellor, Professor Archibald McDonald, to the founder and chairperson of the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation, Dr Maolynne Miller.

Miller, who is also a practising paediatric nephrologist, was grateful for the Thermoclycler Machine, which will aid in improving the quality of care the Jamaica Kidney Kids Foundation is able to offer to children who are suffering from kidney

disease.
