Prelim for trio on murder charge
WESTERN BUREAU:
Three St James men arrested and charged in connection with the December 2014 shooting death of Melbourne 'Bernie' Plummer, are set to undergo preliminary examination in the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on February 29, 2016.
Brandon Stora, Andre Simpson and Prince Marson are charged with the murder of Plummer, who was residing in Glendevon, in the parish, at the time of his death. They were given the new court date and had their bails extended when they appeared in court on Wednesday.
It is alleged that on December 31, 2014, Plummer had made arrangements to have his hair done at a barbershop. During that errand, he was shot by gunmen and later died at hospital.
Stora, Simpson and Marston were subsequently charged following police investigations.
In court, it was disclosed that the forensic certificate, which had been outstanding, had been added to the prosecution's case-file. A request was also made for the prosecution witnesses to be subpoenaed to attend court.
Resident Magistrate Sandria Wong-Small subsequently extended the three defendants' bails to February 29.
