Girl's death being investigated

The police are investigating the circumstances under which an eight-year-old girl shot and killed herself.

She has been identified at Gabriel Ricketts from Galina, St Mary.

It is reported that she was playing with her father's licensed firearm at home on Sunday morning when the gun went off accidentally and she was shot.

The police say that at about

8 a.m., Gabriela's father heard an explosion and went to make checks.

He reportedly found his daughter slumped over in the couch.

Gabriel was pronounced dead at the Port Maria Hospital.
