Gunmen killed, cops injured last night

A gun battle last night in, Ferry district, St Andrew, ended with two gunmen dead.

Two policemen were also shot and injured in the incident, which also led to the recovery of two illegal firearms, THE WEEKEND STAR understands.

Up to press time, the identity of those killed were not ascertained.

The police's information arm, the Corporate Communications Unit, told THE WEEKEND STAR that the incident occurred shortly after 10 p.m.

Our news team gathered that the policemen were hospitalised in stable condition.

The CCU confirmed to our news team that one of the policemen sustained injuries to the hand and side, while the other was shot in his hand.
