Soup throwing leads to brawl

A St James man who was arrested for fighting with another man at the Montego Bay Transport Centre recently, will return to the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on March 11, when his case will be heard in the Petty Session Court.

Athol Edwards, of a Montego Bay address, pleaded guilty to disorderly conduct when he appeared in court recently.

The court was not told when the incident took place, but in his explanation, Edwards told presiding magistrate Sandria Wong-Small that the altercation started when the complainant threw soup on him.

"The young man wanted to 'diss' the elder ... he threw soup on me," said Edwards.

"Did you make a report to the police?" asked RM Wong-Small.

"No, because as him throw the soup, mi throw 'Tyson fist' on him ... and the police came and saw when we were fighting," Edwards replied.

The matter was subsequently set for hearing in the Petty Session Court on March 11.
