No breakthrough in murder of man at PNP dance

The Clarendon police are yet to make a breakthrough in the killing of a man at a People's National Party (PNP) dance in the parish Tuesday night.

Dead is 32-year-old Richard Perkins, also known as 'Stinger', a labourer of McDonald district, Crooked River, Clarendon.

Reports are that about 10:15 p.m., Perkins was at the dance that was put on by Member of Parliament for Northern Clarendon, Horace Dalley, when an argument developed between him (Perkins) and three other men.

It is said that Perkins pulled a firearm during the dispute, however, he was disarmed by one of the men who used the weapon to shoot him in the head.

The shooter reportedly fled the scene on a motorcycle, taking the gun with him.

The deceased had recently appeared before the Clarendon Circuit Court on multiple charges, including murder, illegal possession of firearm and ammunition. He was out on bail at the time of his death.

Investigations continue.
