Man remanded for breaching bail conditions

A man who violated the terms of his bail condition, by failing to report to the police after he was granted bail on larceny charges, was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate Court.

When the matter was called up Friday the accused Akeem Johnson pleaded guilty.

The court heard that Johnson was to report to the Hunts Bay Police Station on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

According to the court he last reported December 28, 2015.

When asked by Resident Magistrate Maxine Ellis why he stopped reporting, Johnson said, “Cause a policeman down a Hunts Bay a beat beat me up and lick mi ina mi chest.”

Johnson was remanded and will be sentenced on April 12.
