Commander for the Manchester police division, Superintendent Vendolyn Cameron-Powell has described yesterday’s murder suicide in the Hope Village District of Williamsfield, as ‘very sad’ for the parish.

School principal Gail Anderson, 42 and Jamaica Defence Force member John Williams, 42 were found dead at their home with gunshot wounds to the head at approximately 3:40 p.m Thursday.

Speaking with THE STAR earlier today, SP Cameron-Powell said the case has been brought to a close and that the murder weapon, a pistol, was retrieved from the crime scene.

“We don’t know the reason behind it, however what we heard is that they have been having some domestic problems”, said SP Cameron-Powell.

The police also told THE STAR that the license firearm recovered belonged to the JDF sergeant and that there were no signs of break-in as the two were reportedly locked in a room.

SP Cameron-Powell said, “Someone gain entry through a window of the house and discovered the bodies.”
