Man killed during argument with cop

A man was shot and killed during a confrontation with a policeman in Pembroke Hall, St Andrew last evening.

The deceased has been identified as 43-year-old Christopher Comrie, of Colbec Avenue, Kingston 20.

Reports from the police's Corporate Communications Unit (CCU) are that about 5:55 p.m., Comrie and the policeman were engaged in an argument along Ken Hill Drive, in Pembroke Hall, when Comrie was shot and killed.

CCU could not ascertain whether the officer implicated in the shooting was taken into custody, but noted that the incident was reported to the Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM), which will be investigating the matter.
