Cops probe computer tech's murder

The St Andrew Central police have launched a probe into the circumstances surrounding the death of a computer technician, who was shot and killed in Washington Gardens, while on his way to work yesterday morning.

The dead man has been identified as 30-year-old Trevoney Smith, otherwise called 'G-Tour', of a Mansfield Drive address.

Reports are that at about 6:50 a.m., the deceased was walking towards Washington Boulevard, when on reaching Harwood Drive, he was pounced upon by armed men who opened fire hitting him several times.

 

MULTIPLE GUNSHOT WOUNDS

 

THE STAR gathered that residents heard the loud explosions and alerted the police.

Information reaching THE STAR is that on the arrival of the police, Smith was seen lying on his back with multiple gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Residents in the area told our news team that they are appealing to the police to provide more frequent patrols as acts of criminality appear to be on the rise in the area.

The Duhaney Park police are investigating.
