Man injures five-year-old boy with bottles
A man who threw bottles at a five-year-old child, causing injury to the infant's shoulder, was remanded and a psychiatric evaluation ordered.
When the matter was called up yesterday in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court, 23-year-old Alphonso Davis pleaded guilty to assault occasioning bodily harm.
The court heard that Davis threw bottles at the child, causing him to be badly injured.
The court was also told that when the police went to detain Davis, he resisted his arrest.
Davis, however, denied those claims.
The mother of the child appeared in court and told the prosecution that Davis needs evaluation.
Parish Judge Chester Crooks asked the accused what was his relation to the child's mother, and he said: "A mi woman, mi general. We live together fi two years."
He was further remanded and is to return to court on September 7.
Crooks told the court that he was also of the view that Davis needed to be evaluated.
