‘Is like me lose the two a them’ - Dad grieves as one son kills another

Norton Stewart watched in horror on Wednesday morning as his 19-year-old son bled to death after being stabbed by his 17-year old brother at his home in Rockfort, east Kingston.

According to the police report, about 7:20 a.m., Adrian Stewart, 19, and his younger brother, Orlando 'Tashie' Stewart, had an altercation which escalated to a fight.

A knife was brought into play and Adrian was stabbed in the upper body. The police were summoned and he was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead. Orlando has since been taken into custody.

"Not in a me wildest dream me ever think say this would a happen to me," Stewart told THE WEEKEND STAR. "One dead and one is behind bars so is like me lose the two a them. Bwoy me cyah live with this. Me feel me just don't want live no more."

Stewart, 44, said the boys "live loving".

"Even though them argue sometime, no weapon never involve, just little lick and run. Me grow them as giving children so them always a share. Me nuh know how it reach to this, oh God man," Stewart said.

Stewart said he heard a commotion in the yard that caused him to investigate.

"When me come out me see them a wrestle so me take away the older one and carry him go round a the back, and by me look, him run go back round there and a argue with him bredda," Stewart said. "By the time me reach round a the front, him stab him, and me bawl out 'Tashie' why you stab you bredda?"

He continued, "Same time the one wah get the stab hold him back and look pon me and me say 'ah it this!' Him bleed out bout five gallon a blood before we could get a car to take him to the hospital."

Stewart said that regardless of everyone else's mood, Adrian would always "find supmn fi make you laugh".

"Him love the mechanic business. Up to the day before me and him work pon a truck but me never get fi collect the money. Me collect the money this morning and me cry when me realise him nuh deh here fi get him share," Stewart said. "Me lose me father 2016 through sickness, and me never dream fi lose another family member."
