Cops grab bank robbery suspect
The Westmoreland police have reportedly taken a suspect into custody in connection with Tuesday's multimillion dollar robbery at the Jamaica National Bank branch in Whitehouse.
Investigators say they are unable to release the identity of the suspect, but reported that he was picked up during an operation in the parish yesterday morning. An illegal firearm was seized during the process.
Commanding officer for Westmoreland, Superintendent Robert Gordon, told THE STAR that the investigations are in the early stages.
"There is not much I can say at this time, but I can safely say that one person who we believe can assist us in our investigations has been taken into custody," he said.
Other sources close to the Westmoreland police say the suspect is believed to be one of the three masked men who carried out the robbery.
