Usain Bolt awaiting COVID-19 test result
Sprint legend Usain Bolt says he is currently awaiting the results after undergoing a COVID-19 test.
Bolt, who celebrated his birthday three days ago, had a birthday party with his friends, which included several artistes and celebrities.
In a video posted to his social media, Bolt stated that he woke up to news on social media that he had tested positive. He is contending that he has not yet officially received his results from the Health Ministry.
According to Bolt, he did the test on Saturday in order to leave the island for work. He added that he currently has no symptoms.
"Trying to be responsible so I'm gonna try to stay in and stay away from my friends. I'm having no symptoms so I'm going to quarantine myself and wait on the confirmation (from Ministry of Health) to see what is the protocol," Bolt said.
He encouraged others who may have come in contact with him to also quarantine themselves.
"Just to make people know, be safe out there"
