Mom fears the worst as son remains missing

Relatives of 24-year-old Renogade Burton have been restive since his disappearance on November 24. All attempts to contact or locate him have proven futile, his mother Kerry-Ann Nicholas told THE STAR.

"From the Tuesday him leave and everybody a try call and the phone just go straight to voice mail," she said. Nicholas is even more concerned, as it is unlike Burton to leave without even a call to say he is fine.

"This is the first time he is leaving home and his phone is off, nobody is hearing anything from him. He is a person who loves social media too, always on his phone, and him don't post anything from last week Tuesday," she said. "Him is a person who walks with his charger so you can just know how much he loves his phone."

Meet a friend

According to Nicholas, Burton left his home in Downs, St Elizabeth, to meet someone in Mandeville on Tuesday morning. He was said to be wearing a multicoloured T-shirt, white shorts and black shoes.

"The only thing I know is that he was seen about after three in the day at Willowgate Plaza in Mandeville by his girlfriend sister," she said. Nicholas said she has become depressed and hasn't been to work all week.

"I can't sleep or eat nothing," she said. "All I can do is wonder if he died because he has never done this before. But if that is the case I would at least just want his body to bury to give me closure." Burton is of dark complexion, slim build and about 170 centimetres (6 feet, 2 inches) tall. His younger sister, Geraldine Phillips, is praying for her brother's safe return.

"I just want to see my brother back home so my mother can be in a better place again," said Phillips. "I have to stay strong for my mother so right now I have to just pray and ask God for strength."
