The December 22 disappearance of 45-year-old Hassan Blackwood has left his Pleasant Heights, Rockfort, Kingston family distressed.

"I feel like I am in this dark place and the walls are caving in. I'm just trying to hold it together because I'm worried about my brother," Hassan's sister, Latoya Blackwood, told THE STAR.

According to the 43-year-old, her brother was last seen by their dad at his home in the area.

"At that time he was wearing a merino and a multicoloured shorts as he normally wear in the yard. But we don't know if when he left the yard and changed his clothing," she said

Since last month, all means of contacting or locating Hassan have been futile.

"We have called all other possible links to him in his life and nobody has seen or heard from him and his phone keeps on going straight to voice mail which is strange. He hasn't even collected his last salary and he has not submitted a report to collect it either," she said.

It is not strange for Hassan to leave home, as his welding job usually takes him to other parishes. It is, however, alarming for him to leave for such an extended period without even a phone call.

"He usually calls my husband often and he didn't call him or nothing," she said.

"We talk to each other regularly and if a day pass and I don't call, I know he will. So it is strange that he hasn't reached out in such a long time," Howard Richards, brother-in-law, added

Richards said that right now he is having mixed feelings.

"I have to be keeping the rest of the family strong," he said. "I still feel in myself that things are gonna turn out good, but if anything we just need closure."

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Hassan Blackwood is being asked to contact Howard Richards at 876- 289-3778 or the Rockfort police at (876) 922-2941.
