Police identify woman as person of interest in alleged abuse of 4-y-o girl

The Westmoreland police have listed Marcia Billings of Cave District in the parish, as a person of interest in the ongoing investigation into a case of alleged abuse of a four-year-old girl.

The police is appealing to Billings to make contact with detectives at the Savanna-la-Mar Police Station by 5 p.m., today Friday, February 5.

According to the police, Billings emerged as a person of interest following investigations that were launched after a report by the child's mother.

In the meantime, the police have warned persons to desist from sharing images of the child immediately, as sharing them constitutes an offence.

The matter has been brought to the attention of the Child Protection and Family Services Agency (CPFSA) and the Center for the Investigation of Sexual Offenses and Child Abuse (CISOCA), who are working alongside the Savanna-la-Mar Police.

Investigations are ongoing.
