Jamaica records over 200 new COVID cases for fourth consecutive day
Jamaica has recorded over 200 new COVID-19 cases for the fourth consecutive day.
Of the 1,480 samples tested in the last 24 hours, 213 returned positive results increasing total confirmed cases to 17,298 with 4,435 active.
Of the new cases, 96 are males and 117 are females, with ages ranging from 7 months to 76 years.
Kingston and St. Andrew recorded the most new cases with 70, followed by St Catherine with 34, and St James with 24, and Manchester with 23.
St Thomas and St Mary with only two cases each, were the parishes with the least amount of cases.
In the meantime, 47 more persons have recovered for a total of 12,318.
Some 159 persons are hospitalised with 10 being moderately and 16 critically ill.
According to the Ministry of Health, eight persons are in government quarantine, while 18,782 are quarantined at home.
No new deaths were recorded., however one additional death is being probed bringing total deaths under investigation to 37.
