Corporate Area men facing firearms charges

The St Andrew Central Police Division have arrested and charged two men with illegal possession of firearm and ammunition following an incident that ended on Woolwich Crescent in Kingston 3 on Friday, February 5.

Charged are 29-year-old David Anthony Foster, otherwise called 'Dave' of Danes Road, and 18-year-old Kassa Walker of Providence Pen Lane, Swallowfield, both Kingston 5.

Reports from the police are that about 9:40 a.m., a police team on patrol in the area gave chase to two men travelling on a motorcycle, after they committed a robbery in the Mona area. The chase led them to a premises where both men were found hiding in a room and a HR USB Compact 9mm pistol loaded with 14 9mm rounds of ammunition was found on the floor beside them. Foster and Walker were taken into custody and subsequently charged after an interview. Their court dates are being finalised.

Meanwhile, detectives assigned to the Kingston Eastern Police Division have arrested and charged 21-year-old Javan Thompson, otherwise called 'Jay' of Oliver Road, Kingston 2, with robbery with aggravation and illegal possession of firearm on Thursday, February 11.

Reports are that about 10:30 a.m., the complainant was at home when Thompson and another man brandished firearms and forcefully gained entry. The men stole a television and J$67,000.

Thompson was subsequently apprehended and charged. His court date is also being finalised.
