458 new COVID cases, 429 hospitalised

Of the 1,476 samples tested for COVID-19 in Jamaica in the last 24 hours, 458 returned positive results for a total of 37,128 with 19,589.

Of the new cases, 206 are males and 251 are females, with ages ranging from eight months days to 98 years.

Kingston and St Andrew recorded the most new cases with 183, followed by St Catherine with 100.

St Ann with five and St Thomas with six were the only parishes to register single digit cases.

Meanwhile, 429 patients are hospitalised, with 54 patients moderately ill and 44 critical.

There were 121 more recoveries, bringing that total to 16,739.

In the meantime,  a 75-year-old from St. Elizabeth is the latest Jamaican to die as a result of the virus, pushing the death tally to 546.

According to the Ministry of Health, seven person is in government quarantine, however, 22,356 are quarantined at home.
