Young entrepreneur hosts business brunch
Eager to celebrate her second anniversary of her business venture, Tiffany Edwards is hosting a business brunch for like-minded entrepreneurs to gain insight on how to launch their enterprise.
The brunch will be held at the Waterfalls in Liguanea, St Andrew, on Sunday. It will be live-streamed on Edwards' page and will feature guest speakers who are successful entrepreneurs.
Edwards said that there would be discussions to examine, among other things, how to maximise the reach of social media and the essentials in having a successful business.
"I think it's important for persons to be a part of this brunch to gain knowledge in the business industry so their business or aspiring business can grow. It's a platform to gain knowledge, strength, opportunity and growth," Edwards said.
A phlebotomist by training, Edwards works at the University Hospital of the West Indies and is the owner of a medical supplies store, MedEssentials.
The idea to host a brunch is to celebrate the success of her business and to encourage young people like herself, to start their business as well.
"From I was a little girl I always wanted to do this," she said about her decision to venture into business.
The idea to start the medical supplies store, she said, came when she did the phlebotomy course. She said she found it difficult to find equipment that was necessary for her studies, and saw that obstacle as a business opportunity.
"After I graduated, I thought why not start a business where I could provide the equipment, especially in this era where technology has increased," she told THE WEEKEND STAR.
