With her Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examinations just days away, Keresa Stephens, 19, is finding it hard to concentrate, as her mother Kereen Jackson, 41, has been missing since Sunday, July 4.

"I haven't slept much and on Wednesday I didn't eat for the entire day because I am distressed. I have exams next week and I haven't studied although I am trying. I am really worried that something bad may have happened to her but something is wrong ... she is not the type to leave like that," said Keresa, a sixth-form student at St Catherine High School.

She said she has filed a missing person's report to the Spanish Town police, but said she is imploring the public to be on the lookout for her mother, who is of slim build and has a dark complexion.

Jackson, who hails from Turtle Drive in Homestead Park, St Catherine, was last seen leaving her home on Sunday wearing a jeans shorts and black blouse.

"She left the house when it was raining for Duncans Pen to visit someone she was seeing. The person said she had reached his house but she couldn't stay because there was another woman there and she turned back, but she has not returned home since. There are persons on social media who said they saw her on Monday but that's just it," Keresa said. The teenager stressed that this behaviour is unlike her mother.

"Her phone is off from Sunday and she is the type of person who will go out and do her little job and sell her juice and she hasn't done any of that. I live in front of her house with another lady but she would come and give me my lunch money and so on," she said.

Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kereen Jackson is being asked to contact the Spanish Town police at 876 984-2305 or 119.
