Two guns recovered in Clarendon
The Clarendon police, along with members of the Jamaica Defence Force, recovered two guns in the Howell's Content community of York Town on Monday.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Anton-Gur Cardoza, operations officer in the Clarendon Police Division, said that the team, acting on information, went into the community about noon at a particular cemetery.
Following a thorough search of the area, the lawmen found a .45 pistol containing a magazine with one round. The team also recovered a home-made shotgun with one live cartridge. Both were found in a yard. One person has been taken into custody in connection with the find.
Cardoza used the opportunity to put out an appeal to residents of the communities in the parish to share whatever they know as it relates to criminal activities and illegal firearms.
"Share it with the police and we will do the rest. The life that they save may very well be your own," he said.
