Several relatives of the two persons who were killed in what has been described as a cult-like sacrificial ritual say justice has been served on the accused pastor who died in a motor vehicle accident along a section of the Linstead Bypass, in St Catherine yesterday morning.

Smith was being transported to Kingston, where he was expected to be slapped with various charges including murder.

"This goes fi show the rest a people dem seh a nuh no 'His Excellency' run things, but a God run things, an a wha God seh goes," said Meakof Jarrett, after receiving news that controversial pastor Kevin O Smith had succumbed to his injuries at hospital. Jarrett's sister, Tanicka Gordon, was killed at the Pathways International Kingdom Restoration Ministries church in Montego Bay, St James, on Sunday, October 17.

"A just God work. God is able, God is good, and I know seh Him would serve justice swift because Tanicka believe inna God, and she neva go church fi go fi be a part a no cult, or serve no his excellency, but she go fi serve God," Jarrett told THE STAR. The news team also spoke to Sharon Parkins, the grieving mother of Michael Brown, who was allegedly promised a kidney by Smith, and convinced to leave his bed at the Cornwall Regional Hospital and told to come to the ritual. It is further alleged that Smith dragged the medical tubes out of Brown's body.

"Him (Smith) dead too quick," Parkins said. "Because a him kill mi son, so a him did fi bury him, and seet deh now, him dead and gone an lef all the expenses pon poor mi."

Parkins also said God is not asleep and believes that justice has been served on Smith. She also mocked Smith's 'powers'.

"But fi a man who claim seh him have so much power, mi still can't believe seh him really dead so easy, although the amount of things them that him really do, a dem come back come haunt him yah now," she said.

A woman who said she was nearly sacrificed at the ritual, pointed out that it still remains a mystery how things played out so quickly.

"Pastor always tell we that him can bring back people to life, so mi want fi see how long him gwan tek fi come back to life yah now," she told THE STAR. She said that she went to the church to worship God, and is still shocked by some of the events that took place at the church.

"Honest to God, some a the things wha mi see pon phone, a the first mi know seh dem things yah did a gwan up deh, and when me and mi husband sit down and a watch dem, mi haffe cry. When we hear seh him dead today, is like a burden lift off a mi heart, and a one thing mi tell mi husband seh is that him should a dead two times," she said.

Meanwhile the Police High Command yesterday expressed condolences on the passing of Constable Orlando Irons, who was also killed in the crash with Smith. The force's chaplaincy unit, medical services branch and welfare department are providing support to Irons' relatives and colleagues.
