Prosecutors say Jamaican cop smuggled cocaine to US inside vagina, stomach
The United States Department of Justice says Jamaican police constable Shelian Allen smuggled several pellets of cocaine in her stomach, and vagina to the US.
Allen, 42, arrived at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on a flight from Montego Bay on February 3.
During an inspection by U.S. Customs and Border Protection, it was revealed that she had a package of cocaine inside her vagina, a package of cocaine inside each of her bra cups, and pellets of packaged cocaine inside her stomach.
Border patrol officers took Allen to a local hospital, where she expelled a total of 90 pellets from her stomach.
The Justice Department says she had approximately 1,350 grams of cocaine on or inside her body when she entered the United States.
Allen has been charged with two counts of importation of 500 grams or more of cocaine and possession with intent to distribute 500 grams or more of cocaine.
If convicted, she faces up to 40 years in prison on each count.
Allen who has been a cop for the past 18 years has been suspended from the force.
