Relatives of Andre Carr, a 33-year-old mentally ill man from Whitfield Town, St Andrew, are seeking the public's assistance to locate him as he has been missing since March 11.

According to Carr's sister Kevera Rowe, her sibling's illness sometimes causes him to behave aggressively.

"He suffers from schizophrenia and hallucinations. Sometimes yuh hear him a say man under him bed and dem ting deh," she said. Rowe said that this is not the first time that Carr has disappeared from home, but it is unlike him not to contact his family.

"One time him go away for all two months, but we were hearing from him. We are worried because he has got more aggressive and he is not answering his phone. We have checked everywhere, including the morgues, because people may see him and because he is aggressive, may harm him. I am just asking anyone if they see him to call the nearest police station," she said.

According to Rowe, Carr, who is of slim build and fair complexion, is currently not being treated for his condition.

"The last time we took him to get medication dem say as long as weed inna him system, dem can't help him. The last place we carry him go say him very aggressive and even if we paying them $1 million, they can't attend to him," she said. Despite his illness, Rowe said that her brother has been able to blend in at times.

"He doesn't look mad and he works in a garage. He will move from one garage to the next and persons may not know that they are working with someone who is of unsound mind," she added.

Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Andre Carr is being asked to contact the Hunts Bay police at 876 923 7112.
