Water shortage at court

May 11, 2022
Industrial actions taken by workers of the National Water Commission for a second day have impacted criminal proceedings at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court today.

Detainees being held in custody within the Corporate Area were not brought to court due to a water shortage.

“I am going to set another date in this matter as the co-defendants were not taken as there is a water shortage in the Corporate Area,” Senior Parish Judge Lori-Anne Cole-Montaque informed a defendant, Ryheem Parchment.
Parchment, who is on bail, is facing a charge of unlawful wounding.

His co-defendants, Chevon Johnson, Daniel Bailey, and Romario Williams are in custody.

Several cases for mention were adjourned this morning by the senior judge.
