NWC announces lock-offs
February 02, 2023
Drought conditions in western Jamaica have forced the National Water Commission (NWC) to ration the distribution of water in areas served by the Whitehall pumping station.
The commission said that the production of water at the Logwood facility has been reduced due to the drought conditions. Operations at the Whitehall pumping station have been regulated and customers served by the facility are now scheduled to receive water supply on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m.
Areas likely to be affected include: Orange Hill, Mount Airy, Good Hope, Duck Pond, White Hall, Negril, Westland Mountain, West End, and environs.
