Mother in deadly house fire identified

The 37-year-old woman who died alongside her son in a fire which destroyed their home in Berkshire, Westmoreland on Monday night has been identified as Keisha Walters.

The body of the Walters and her 5-year-old son Joel Brown were discovered beneath the burnt rubbles shortly after the Fire Department ousted the fire from the dwelling.

They were removed to the morgue for post mortem examination.

It is reported that about 10:40 p.m., residents in the community alerted the Fire Department and the police after fire and smoke was seen coming from a section of the dwelling.

On the arrival of the firemen, the house was already engulfed in flames and they could only managed to carry out cooling down operations.
