‘MI CAN’T BRING BACK MI FATHER’ - Daughter grieves over businessman murdered in east Kingston

When Aesha Wilson saw her father, Randolph Wilson, sitting on a bench along the roadway on Wednesday morning, she thought he was waiting on a customer to return one of his rental vehicles.

Aware that the 58-year-old was feeling ill, she planned on preparing a nutritious meal for his dinner.

However, that was not to be. Wilson, who is the owner of Randolph Car Rental on Windward Road, was shot and killed moments later by unknown assailants on Gibbs Avenue, Rollington Town.

Reports from the Elletson Road police are that about 9:30 a.m., Wilson was transacting business when he was pounced upon by a lone gunman who shot him several times in the upper body. He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

"Mi can't bring back mi father and mi can't stop grieve. Mi father never deserved this, and is like mi can't stop break down. Them call him outta him bed fi kill him and it hurt. Mi never know say Tuesday when mi cook the season rice for him dinner it was the last meal he would ever eat from mi," she said.

Aesha said that her father had started his car rental business over two and a half decades ago. She said he migrated to England a few years ago, but returned and expanded his business.

"Him was a very stern businessman, but he was very secretive as it relates to it as well. Only sometimes yuh would hear him on the phone arguing with someone, but it was always about his business," she said.

She told THE WEEKEND STAR that her father wasn't the type to sit on a bench along the roadway, so when she saw him on Wednesday she thought he was waiting on a customer to return one of his vehicles.

Aesha said she continued on her journey to her partner's house and shortly after getting there, she got a distressing call that her father had been shot and injured.

She then raced to the hospital where a doctor broke the devastating news, that her father had succumbed to his injuries.

At that time, Aesha said that she felt like her life was draining from her body.

"I kept asking if he was okay and the doctor was trying to calm me and then he told me that my father wasn't okay. I just started crying really hard and I went outside and mi drop and is mi uncle hold me up," she recounted, as tears streamed down her face.

"Mi father was a go-getter and very motivating. He was never one to sit down and wait for a handout. I was his only child so we were very close," she shared.

"I didn't grow with my mother, I grow with my father and grandmother so he was very close to my heart. He was like my mother and father in one. There was never a time that my father wasn't there for me," she said.

In addition to grieving, Aesha said that she is traumatised and fearful.

"Mi scared, honestly, and mi traumatise and fraid because mi don't know where his death a come from. Mi a walk, but mi a walk in fear but is one thing I am certain, my father was not involved in any wrongdoing. Business people deal with a lot of people," she said. "He is very strict and anything weh him did a defend would have to do with his business."
