Illegal firearm seized in Maroon Town, three arrested

The police in St James have taken three people into custody following the discovery of a semi-compact nine-millimetre pistol in Maroon Town in the parish on Sunday. 

According to the police, a team was on a mobile patrol when they conducted a snap raid at a bar in the town square.

A search was carried out in an unoccupied section adjacent to the bar, and a black and chrome CZ 75 pistol with partially erased serial number affixed to it was found under a counter.

The gun had a magazine with three nine-millimetre cartridges.
