53-y-o arrested, charged with illegal firearm

The police have arrested and charged 53-year-old driver Jephta Blair with several gun charges after an illegal firearm and ammunition was found in his vehicle on Sunday. 

It is reported that about 4:40 p.m., lawmen were on operation along in Mickleton Meadows in Linstead, St Catherine, when Blair's premises was searched.

During the search, a Toyota Noah belonging to him was also searched— one 9mm pistol with a magazine containing eleven 9mm rounds of ammunition was found in a pouch between the front seats of the vehicle.

He was subsequently taken into custody.

An investigation was launched and Blair was charged with possession of prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition on Wednesday, April 19 after being interviewed in the presence of his attorney.

His court date has not been finalised.
