Five men arrested in police station brawl granted bail
Five men who were arrested by the police for fighting on the compound of the Bog Walk police station were granted bail in the sum of $100,000 each in the St Catherine Parish Court today.
It is alleged the men attacked each other with stones, machetes, knives and ice picks following a three-vehicle accident along the Linstead Bypass.
The accused are Dale Richards, Michael Edwards, Marvin Gardener, Shamar West, Nicholas Edwards and Romario Henry.
They were arrested and charged with assault at common-law, disorderly conduct, stone throwing, and being armed with an offensive weapon.
Bail was granted by Senior Parish Court judge Desiree Alleyne to the five men, but a sixth man, Nicholas Henry was already on station-bail.
The presiding judge expressed concerns about the aggravated circumstances of the incident taking on the station's compound.
The accused were warned to keep the peace and reappear on June 28 when the matter will again be mentioned.
