Man killed in shootout with cops in Flankers

A man was shot and killed during an alleged shootout with the police in Flankers, St James on Monday morning.

He has been identified as Roger Sterling.

According to the police, about 3:00 a.m., lawmen acting on a search warrant, went to Sterling's home in Seaview Drive, Flankers when he allegedly opened fire at them.

The police returned fire, and Sterling was fatally shot during the confrontation. An illegal firearm was seized.

It is reported that Sterling, who lives with his mother up to the time of his death, was out on bail after being arrested on charges of illegal possession of firearm.
