Missing fisherman found dead

Michael Collington, a Portland fisherman who was reported missing by his family on Thursday, was found dead on Friday morning, following an intensive search by the police.

It is reported that family members became overly concern on Thursday after Collington did not return from his trade of spear-gun fishing.

A search of the coastlines of Norwich, Snow Hill, and St Margaret’s Bay by local fishermen and the Marine police Thursday afternoon came up empty-handed.

Collington’s belongings including items of clothing and a cell phone was found on a beach at Snow Hill, which reportedly triggered alarm bells among family members and the search team that something might have gone horribly wrong.

But during an extensive search of the Snow Hill coastline shortly after 8:00 a.m. Friday, the body of the fisherman was found by divers.

The Portland police are investigating.
