Delivery driver held with nearly $30-million worth of cocaine

A 49-year-old delivery driver of Thornton, St Elizabeth, has been arrested for breaches of the Dangerous Drugs Act.

Reports from the Narcotics Division are that about 3 p.m., last Thursday, the man was attempting to board a flight at the Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, St James. The flight was destined for London, England. The man was stopped by detectives and his luggage was searched. During the search, five kilograms of cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $29.178 million was found concealed in his luggage. His identity is being withheld pending further investigations.
