63-y-o dressmaker among two killed in Lilliput, St James
Sixty-three-year-old dressmaker Vernice Blackwood, and 28-year-old Romario Bromfield, were both shot and killed by gunmen at Blackwood's home in Lilliput, St James on Thursday.
According to the Barrett Town police, the incident happened shortly after 6:00 p.m.
The deceased were at Blackwood's home when men armed with handguns, walked into the yard.
The men opened fire hitting Blackwood who was sitting on her verandah, and then walked to the side of the house and opened fire hitting her Bromfield, before escaping.
The police were summoned and upon arrival, the victims were found lying in blood, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
They were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
The STAR understands Blackwood's son managed to escape the ordeal.
