Portland brothers charged with murder

June 21, 2023

The two Portland brothers who were implicated in the stabbing death of 37-year-old labourer Leighton Biggs, have been officially charged with his murder, the police have confirmed.

They have been identified as 25-year-old Weston Warren, also known as ‘pucky pucky’, and 20-year-old Ricardo Warren also known as ‘rick’, both from Lennox District.

According to the police, Biggs went to his uncle's yard on the night of June 14 to complain about a monetary dispute he had with the older of the Warren brothers.

While the deceased was complaining, Weston entered the yard and an argument developed between them. Shortly after, the younger Weston Brother, Ricardo, entered the yard and also joined in on the dispute.

It is reported that the uncle of the deceased went inside his house, and upon his return, saw his nephew running towards him bleeding from a wound to his chest.

He was rushed to the Annotto Bay Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The brothers were subsequently taken into custody some time after.

Their court date is being finalised.
