17-y-o among three slapped with gun charges
A 17-year-old boy was among three person arrested and charged following a firearm and ammunition seizure along Strand Street in Montego Bay, St James last Friday.
Charged with unauthorised possession of a prohibited weapon and unauthorised possession of ammunition are:
- 22-year-old Clive Lawson otherwise called ‘Greedy’, of Catherine Mount, Montego Bay, St. James.
- The 17-year-old boy and
- 50-year-old Richard Kirlew, otherwise called ‘Trooper’, a taxi operator of Clarke Street, Mount Salem, St. James.
According to the Montego Bay Police, about 6:30 p.m., Lawson was seen acting in a manner that aroused the suspicion of the police.
He proceeded to enter a taxi; the vehicle was stopped and searched by the police and searched.
A Single Action Browning nine milli-metre pistol along with nine rounds of ammunition were found. All three persons were taken into custody.
They were charged on Monday, June 26 following a question and answer session with their respective attorneys.
Their court date is being finalised.
