UDC renews Dunn’s River summer promotion

Residents and visitors will again have the opportunity to benefit from the 'Summa Thrills' promotion, being offered by the world-famous Dunn's River Falls and Park.

"We decided to come back this year because of the returns from last year. Even when the promotion ended, we had persons still asking about it. So, if you are into thrills, excitement, nature and just overall love for water, this is the place to be," Kereen Cole-Ivey, marketing manager, Urban Development Corporation (UDC), told JIS News in a recent interview.

The promotion will begin this Saturday and will run until September 3. It includes paying one cost to climb the Falls, hike and zip over the Falls via the Chukka Falls Flyer. In addition, persons will also have access to the beach, splash pad and other amenities.

The associated costs include $5,000 per person for residents and US$75 per person for non-residents. A photo identification is required to access the resident rate.

Cole-Ivey pointed out that the entire family can participate in the activities being promoted, noting that the hike is a nature trail experience that does not require persons to carry a backpack and water bottle.

"When they come and they are doing the trail, they are able to trail the Ruins and see the Belmont Great House, a hidden falls that nobody really knows about, flora, fauna and just different types of plants, and learn about the property - the history and what took place back then. So, it is that cultural experience that [persons] will gain from the hike," said Cole-Ivey.

She emphasised that the promotion, which provides a "five-star experience", is being done in partnership with Chukka.

"It is a very good experience and I'm encouraging everyone to take the family out. It's summer, the place is hot, you come, relax, unwind and have a great time," the marketing manager urged.

Cole-Ivey further pointed out that her recommendation is for guests to first do the nature trail then the zipline, followed by the climbing of the Falls.

Dunn's River Falls and Park is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. Tickets may be purchased online via the Dunn's River website at www.dunnsriverfallsja.com or on location, upon arrival.

Guests are also being asked to share their experience on social media and tag @dunnsriver.jamaica in their photos and videos on Instagram.
