'Babsy' pledges $35m to JAAA
The Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) has received a pledge in the amount of $35 million from Sports Minister Olivia 'Babsy' Grange.
The donation is intended to go towards the associations preparation for the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.
Grange made the commitment at today's National Senior and Junior Championships press launch at the Jamaica Pegasus.
She committed $10 million for the National Championships which begin next week Thursday, and $25 million for the World Championships in August.
Grange also committed to having a Jamaica House in Budapest which would be the first of its kind at a World Athletics Championships.
The National Championships which run from July 6 to 9 will not only be used to select the World Championship team but also the team for the Pan American Junior Championships, the Commonwealth Youth Games and NACAC Under 18 and Under 23 Championships.
