Man steals almost $100,000 in top shelf liquor

A Corporate Area man who was seen on surveillance footage stealing four bottles of top shelf liquor is to know his fate when he returns to court in September.

Kevaune Reid is to settle his legal representation prior to his sentencing on September 8, after pleading guilty to simple larceny. On Thursday, prosecutors at the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court detailed how Reid stole liquor costing more than $95,000 and hid them in a restroom. The case was not able to proceed as the complainant was not present in court.

However, presiding judge Leighton Morris instructed the prosecutors to contact the complainant to secure their attendance at the next mention date, to ensure the most appropriate sentence is passed.
